Job summary

Salt in Dubai is seeking a senior fashion designer to lead creative direction and collection design for seasonal womenswear. You will shape concepts, sketches, CAD flats, colourways and mood boards, and present design ideas to the founders and cross‑functional teams.

You will drive technical design and development, prepare tech packs, review prototypes, attend fit sessions, and ensure accurate specs. The role also covers fabric, print and detail development, supplier collaboration, and active

Responsibilities

• Research trends, customer needs, competitor activity, fabrics and silhouettes to develop seasonal concepts and mood boards.
• Design cohesive womenswear ranges across seasonal collections, core styles and key moments including Ramadan and Eid.
• Create original sketches, CAD flats, colourways and presentation boards aligned to the brand.
• Present design concepts and product recommendations clearly to the founders and cross-functional team.
• Prepare accurate design specifications and support complete tech packs, including measurements, construction, trims and finishing details.
• Partner with Product Development and garment technology to review prototypes, fit, proportions, workmanship and wearability.
• Attend fit sessions, communicate clear amendments and follow samples through to final design approval.
• Source and select suitable fabrics, trims, embellishments and finishes with Product
• Develop colour palettes, prints and placement artwork, providing accurate references and approvals.
• Balance fashion newness with proven bestsellers and continuity products.
• Deliver sketches, CADs, specifications and design decisions to agreed critical path deadlines.
• Respond quickly to supplier questions, review development samples and resolve design issues without unnecessary sampling rounds.
• Work closely with Buyers and Product Developers to align design intent, costs, feasibility and delivery.
• Collaborate with Merchandising, E-commerce and Marketing on launch stories, product details and collection presentation.
• Support factory visits and live fit sessions when required, including travel to Asia.
• Maintain organised design files, clear version control and accurate handovers.
