Amazon is looking for a Workplace, Health and Safety (WHS) Coordinator to join our team.
As we continue to grow year after year, we need to work smarter to keep our team members safe, fulfilled, motivated, and empowered. We are seeking a driven EHS Officer to help us achieve this goal. With your Bias for Action, you will help drive health and safety across our fulfillment center in Riyadh.
This crucial WHS position reports to the WHS Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Lead site risk assessments for current and new activities.
- Establish the site WHS training matrix.
- Implement site-specific WHS standards and guidelines.
- Implement site WHS objectives and programs.
- Promote a safety culture among employees by providing daily WHS content during shift briefings.
- Conduct frequent safety audits to identify non-compliance equipment and processes.
- Work with the Operations team to implement solutions that eliminate risks and prevent injuries.
- Attend to incidents and occupational injuries on site.
- Guide area managers on incident investigations, Gensuite reporting, and lessons learned communication.
- Assist the Ops team with Gensuite follow-up and CAPA creation.
- Maintain audit records and ensure Gensuite entries comply with global WHS standards and local regulations.
- Manage PPE inventory and coordinate with procurement for orders.
- Monitor and support weekly Key Safety Requirement (KSR) audits.
- Ensure completion of basic fire fighting and first aid training.
- Conduct daily Powered Industrial Tool and Trailer Dock inspections and communicate findings.
- Support daily Action Tracking System (ATS) monitoring.
- Participate in site management safety walks and report unsafe acts or conditions.
- Provide daily updates to the Country WHS Manager on objectives, incidents, KSR, ATS, and network actions.
- Prepare WHS committee meeting agendas, minutes of meetings, and ATS reports.
- Review and approve daily Permit to Work.
- Lead WHS-related procurement and follow-up activities.
- Develop emergency response plans and conduct drills.
- Manage emergency drill preparations and training, and maintain records.
- Establish and monitor Heat Index levels.
- Support site-specific requests and unplanned events.
- Conduct daily and weekly WHS audits, including hazard waste room, spill kits, and first aid room inspections.
Basic Qualifications:
- NEBOSH IGC certification.
- At least 1 year of experience in the OHS field.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong communication, teamwork, analysis, judgment, and customer focus skills.
- Ability to adapt in fast-paced environments with changing circumstances.
- Experience leading and managing a team.
- Ability to analyze accident data, processes, and machinery for safety concerns, and conduct hazard analyses.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification and experience in emergency response.
- Experience managing Worker’s Compensation cases.
- Proficiency in data analysis and manipulation.
