Job Description:

Wet Utilities Engineer (Design)

Location: Dubai

Parsons is looking for a talented Wet Utilities Design Engineer to join our team! In this role, you will determine methods and solutions for complex engineering problems and select the most efficient and economical approaches to meet project objectives.

What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Develop hydraulic models for sewerage and pressure mains networks independently and guide less experienced staff.
  • Design and analyze sewerage and pressure mains networks for major projects in Dubai.
  • Prepare engineering design models using Civil3D or similar software.
  • Receive advanced training to enhance your skills.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines to develop coordinated multi-discipline designs.
  • Prepare presentations and reports to communicate proposals to clients, authorities, and management.
  • Support other engineering activities as needed.
  • Provide input to BIMCAD Designers working on the same projects.
  • Lead or participate in projects or organizational teams, or serve as a discipline lead on small to medium projects.
  • Guide CAD Drafters, Designers, and junior Engineers on technical aspects of the project.
  • Carry out designs of Wet Utilities distribution systems such as sewerage, potable water, firefighting, and irrigation networks, with guidance from senior engineers. Experience with hydraulic modeling software like WaterCAD, WaterGems, or OpenUtilities is required.
  • Understand load demand calculations for large developments and be familiar with relevant authorities’ regulations (DEWA, ADDC, ADWEA, TRANSCO, etc.).
  • Design hydraulic systems for pump stations.
  • Create utility cross sections as per local authority requirements.
  • Support the preparation of technical, commercial, and Life Cycle Cost analyses of various options and assist in client presentations.
  • Be familiar with British, American, and regional codes and standards related to water and irrigation design.
  • Liaise with authorities to obtain NOCs and design approvals.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Agriculture, Hydraulics, Water, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in wet utilities projects, preferably in GCC countries.
  • Master's degree is advantageous.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification may be required.
  • Proficiency in CAD and related engineering software (Civil 3D, WaterCAD, WaterGems, OpenUtilities).
