Job summary

An international consultancy is seeking a Welding Engineer to oversee welding disciplines in oil and gas pipeline projects. This role requires a minimum of 15 years in the industry, with significant hands-on experience in leading projects, ensuring compliance with design and construction codes. The ideal candidate will hold an International Welding Engineer diploma and a relevant Engineering degree, possess strong communication and problem-solving skills, and be capable of thriving in a multicultural work environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 15 years in Oil and Gas projects.
  • 10 years of experience as Welding Engineer for pipeline installation Projects.
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, Project specifications related to welding.
  • Supervise qualification, audits, testing, fabrication, and construction activities.
  • Participate in resolution of discipline-related technical queries.

Job description

We are looking for a Welding Engineer for one of our clients with the following details:

Location: UAE with Mission to Iraq

Start Date: Sep 2025

Contract Duration: 24 months, extendable

Work Scheme: Residential

Qualifications & Experience Required

  • Minimum 15 years in Oil and Gas projects.
  • 10 years of experience, with significant experience as Welding Engineer for pipeline installation Pro-jects.
  • Previous experience with international EPC Pipeline Contractors

Technical Skills:

  • Knowledge of design and construction code for pipeline (DNVGL-ST-F101, API 1104), pressure vessels (ASME BPVC).

Level / Diploma:

  • International Welding Engineer diploma (IIW, EWF, ESSA) (essential).
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (material, mechanical engineering or related field).
  • Languages: Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.

Main Missions

  • To adopt and demonstrate an exemplary behaviour about H3SE rules and requirements and for ensuring their implementation within his/her scope of responsibility.
  • The service holder is in charge within the Network Well pads and Pipelines (NWP) Package, under the NWP Quality Lead responsibility, of all activities associated to Material and Welding disciplines (including but not limited to pipeline/piping/structure welding, induction bending, forging, line pipe manufacturing,).
  • The service holder ensures during Detailed Engineering, Procurement and Construction phases that all activities, deliverables and documents (internal and external) related to the disciplines he/she is in charge are timely issued, executed and fit for purpose.
  • The service holder ensures Contractor, Subcontractors and Suppliers' deliverables and documents are compliant with applicable codes, standards, Project specifications and best engineering prac-tices related to his/her disciplines.
  • Within NWP Package, the service holder is the Contractor's focal point for all matters related to the disciplines and subjects he/she oversees.
  • The service holder participates in the follow-up and supervision of qualification, audits, testing, fabrication and construction activities, at Contractor, Subcontractors and Suppliers workshops or worksites, related to his/her discipline, directly and/or with the support of the surveillance and site QC team.
  • The service holder will participate in the review and resolution of any discipline-related Technical Query, Deviation Requests and NCR occurring during Detail Engineering and execution phases.
  • The service holder will actively identify the main risks and opportunities related to the disciplines he/she oversees and contribute to their follow-up in line with Project objectives.
  • The service holder actively liaises with other specialists of the NWP Package in order to ensure consistency of the works, with the NWP NDE Engineer.
  • The service holder also liaises with Company HQ discipline specialists as necessary.
