Job summary

TalentOne is seeking an experienced Quality Inspector for welding, piping, fabrication, erection and coating projects in Abu Dhabi. You will verify compliance with WPS/PQR, inspect fit-up, welding parameters and surface preparation, and ensure traceability and proper documentation.

Must hold CSWIP 3.1 or AWS CWI, BGAS/NACE II, and a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, with at least 10 years in Welding/Piping QC and coating inspection in oil & gas EPC environments.

Qualifications

• Must have QA/QC experience in welding/piping and coating inspections.
• Experience with ITPs, welding documentation and traceability.
• Strong knowledge of inspection standards and reporting.
• Oil & gas/petrochemical project experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect fabrication, installation, erection and testing of piping, structures, tanks and welding items.
• Review WPS/PQR, weld maps, witness welder qualification tests.
• Verify material traceability, welding consumables, storage and handling.
• Inspect fit-up, welding parameters, dimensional accuracy and visual quality.
• Monitor welding equipment, PWHT records and contractor compliance.
• Prepare and review daily welding reports and QA documentation.
• Inspect surface preparation, coating application and thickness testing.
• Witness coating tests and verify coating materials and batch traceability.
• Identify defects and ensure corrective actions are completed.

Job Description:

Responsible for quality inspection of welding, piping, fabrication,erection and coating activities, ensuring compliance with approved procedures,project specifications, ITPs and applicable industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect fabrication, installation, erection and testing ofprocess piping, pipelines, structures, tanks, vessels and metallic items.


• Review WPS, PQR, weld maps and welding documentation; witnesswelder qualification tests.


• Verify material traceability, welding consumable control,storage and handling.


• Inspect fit-up, welding parameters, dimensional accuracy andfinal visual quality.


• Monitor welding equipment, calibration, PWHT records andcontractor compliance.


• Prepare/review fit-up, visual inspection and daily weldingreports.


• Inspect surface preparation, blasting, coating application,WFT/DFT, curing and recoating intervals.


• Verify coating materials, batch traceability, storage,applicator qualifications and equipment calibration.


• Witness required coating tests including holiday detection,adhesion and thickness testing.


• Identify defects/non-conformances and ensure correctiveactions are completed.

Requirements

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.


• CSWIP 3.1 or AWS CWI – Welding.


• BGAS Grade II or NACE Level II – Coating/Painting.


• Minimum 10 years’ experience in Welding/Piping/Pipeline QC andPainting/Coating inspection.


• Oil & Gas/Petrochemical experience mandatory.


• Experience with major EPC contractors or their subcontractorspreferred.


• Strong knowledge of QA/QC procedures, ITPs, inspectionstandards and documentation.

Requirements:
