Job duties and responsibilities

• Preparing the components to be welded by clamping, bolting, or tack-welding them into place;
• Inspecting the components prior to welding;
• Using gas tungsten arc or MIG/MAG welding techniques;
• Performing post-weld heat treatment when necessary;
• Grinding down the welds to smooth down their surface;
• Carrying out tests on the welds for strength and quality assurance purposes;
• Maintaining a clean working environment at all times;
• Complying with all safety regulations while performing welding tasks.
