Welder

LIN SCAN is looking for an experienced Welder to operate and maintain assigned machines in line with LIN SCAN's standards, under the supervision of the Workshop Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities & Authorities

1. Able to read assembly drawings and interpret welding symbols.
2. Operates machines such as welding, drilling, etc.
3. Maintain the machines as and when required.
4. Keeps the machines and workshop area clean and tidy.
5. Lays out, positions and secures parts and assemblies according to specifications.
6. Installs or repairs equipment. Observes tests on welded surfaces.
7. Analyzes engineering drawings and specifications to plan layout, assembly and welding operations.
8. Inspects grooves, angles or gap allowances.
9. Determines required equipment and welding method, applying knowledge of metallurgy, geometry and welding techniques.
10. Develops templates and other work aids to hold and align parts.
11. Carries out any other related jobs as and when required by the Supervisor and/or HOD.

Skills/Experience:

1. Technical certificate.
2. Minimum 2 years of experience in engineering/design department for production of design/shop drawings/material submittals.
3. Advanced knowledge of professional software.
4. Prior experience in inline inspection is preferred.
5. Eye Test.

Accountability:

1. Respects fellow employees.
2. Makes sure to follow LIN SCAN policy in respective department.
3. Makes sure the correct drawing is followed.
4. Maintains department tidy and implements daily housekeeping.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

1. Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
2. Mobility: Must be able to walk and climb to perform duties, including maneuvering within a refinery or plant environment and accessing elevated platforms via ladders and stairwells.
3. Communication: Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing, or other communication capabilities, to communicate effectively.
4. Focus and Multitasking: Ability to maintain focus and multitask effectively.
5. Safety Equipment: Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection, if/where needed in manufacturing environments.
6. Personal Mobility and Reflexes: Sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes, with or without reasonable accommodations, to perform office duties and travel to off-site locations when necessary.
