Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Web Developer with extensive hands-on Shopify experience to take ownership of our multi-country e-commerce websites. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the development, maintenance, optimization and technical management of multiple Shopify storefronts across different countries and markets. This role requires someone who can work independently, troubleshoot issues quickly, manage integrations and ensure all websites deliver a fast, secure, consistent, high-converting customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain multiple Shopify websites across different countries ensuring each site is stable, up to date, and performing optimally.
• Lead the end-to-end Shopify development lifecycle including new features, website enhancements, theme development, customisations, integrations, testing, deployment and ongoing maintenance.
• Manage country-specific Shopify requirements including localized content, currencies, payment methods, shipping rules, taxes, domains, languages, promotions and market-specific customer journeys.
• Develop and customise Shopify themes, sections, templates, apps and Shopify Liquid components while maintaining scalability and clean code.
• Work closely with design and marketing teams to translate UI/UX designs into responsive, pixel-accurate Shopify experiences while maintaining brand consistency across countries.
• Manage and optimise Shopify integrations with ERP, CRM, payment gateways, logistics/shipping platforms, marketplaces, analytics tools, marketing platforms and other third-party systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve Shopify-related issues including checkout, payment, product, inventory, pricing, discount, app integration, theme and performance issues.
• Monitor website health across all markets including uptime, page speed, Core Web Vitals, broken links, technical errors tracking and overall site performance.
• Continuously improve website speed, performance, SEO, mobile responsiveness, accessibility and conversion rates.
• Implement Shopify and e-commerce best practices across all markets particularly around navigation, product discovery, PDPs, cart, checkout, promotions and conversion optimisation.
• Ensure consistency of core functionality across countries while allowing for market-specific requirements and customisations.
• Manage Shopify apps and third-party technologies including evaluating new apps, configuring them, monitoring their impact and removing unnecessary or conflicting applications.
• Maintain website security access controls, data integrity, backups version control and safe deployment practices.
• Conduct regular technical audits and health checks across all Shopify stores and proactively identify potential issues before they impact customers or revenue.
• Coordinate website releases, updates and technical changes across multiple countries with minimal business disruption.
• Support and troubleshoot urgent production issues providing timely technical resolution and root-cause analysis.
• Work with internal stakeholders, agencies, developers, designers, SEO teams, digital marketing, CRM, ERP and operations teams to deliver website improvements.
• Stay current with Shopify platform updates, Shopify Plus capabilities, Liquid, APIs, checkout developments, e-commerce technologies, SEO performance optimisation and emerging best practices.

Required Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Web Development, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of full-stack web development experience, with proven Shopify expertise.
• Proficient in Shopify in a must.
• Strong experience with ERP (SAP or similar platforms preferred).
• Familiarity with SEO fundamentals, website speed optimisation tools and performance metrics.
• Ability to independently manage multiple projects and platforms with high attention to detail.
• Previous experience in an e-commerce or retail environment is required.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
