Watch Manager - Talent Pool (Fire & Rescue)

We are currently hiring Watch Managers (Fire & Rescue) responsible for managing and overseeing their watch (shift) in providing Rescue & Firefighting Services (RFFS), including but not limited to: ARFF services to designated airfields per ICAO Category standards, and SRFF services for incidents like fires, emergencies, storms, gas leaks, and more. Act as the Fire and Rescue SME for contract management as required.

The ideal candidate should have team management skills, the ability to perform various tasks, work under pressure, and possess excellent communication, organization, time management, prioritization, and leadership skills.

Key Accountabilities

  1. Assumes the role of Incident Commander.
  2. Leads/manages the crew of assigned vehicle(s) or equipment(s) during firefighting, rescue, or other duties.
  3. Coordinates vehicle positioning, crew deployment, and manages tasks during incidents.
  4. Operates vehicle radio communications and coordinates with other emergency services.
  5. Maintains communication with control tower and fire control room for clearances and incident updates.
  6. Supervises vehicle water and agent/media tank replenishment.
  7. Ensures ongoing fire training for RFFS and ADF base personnel.
  8. Manages RFFS personnel vehicle manning, watch/shift duties, and rostering.
  9. Conducts tests, drills, and exercises to ensure operational readiness.
  10. Monitors daily vehicle and equipment serviceability and reports defects.
  11. Records incidents accurately in station logbooks.
  12. Supervises station duties to maintain safety and cleanliness.
  13. Provides SME advice for SOPs, work instructions, and fire service documentation.
  14. Prepares reports and other documentation as needed.
  15. Performs additional duties as assigned by line management.

Specific Requirements

  • 5+ years in fire & rescue services, including 5 years in a supervisory role at ICAO Category 6 airfield or above; at least 3 of the last 5 years in an equivalent position.
  • Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1) security clearance or equivalent.
  • Military firefighting experience.
  • Valid heavy vehicle operator license and ability to obtain UAE license.
  • 12 years of formal education or a university degree in a fire & rescue-related field.
  • Certification as AIRFIELD FIRE CONTROLLER or equivalent qualifications as per ICAO/NFPA standards.
  • First Aid / Basic Life Support Certification.
  • Certified ‘Medically Fit’ for the role.
