Job description

About the role

1. Coordinate with Shipping & IT Departments.
2. Prioritize workload and process information to meet deadlines while maintaining accurate files.
3. Coordinate with Merchandisers regarding new shipments; follow up on stock damage during transit, prepare storage/excess claims, ensure stock is properly binned/tagged, and ensure adherence to all division, company, local, and legal requirements.
4. Follow-up with IT & Finance regarding stock written off (testers, uniforms, damage, giveaways, defective products).
5. Ensure the Distribution Centre complies with H&S regulations.
6. Conduct periodic maintenance for all equipment. Manage a team including workload, motivation, training, and appraisals.
7. Provide supervision and leadership to the team.
8. Inform and guide employees on company policies and procedures.
9. Appraise employees and monitor performance against set goals. Identify development needs and potential for appropriate job assignments.
10. Follow up on employee welfare issues.
11. File all goals and appraisals for the Distribution Centre team.
12. Maintain a clean and well-organized Distribution Centre, conducting daily inspection checks.
13. Carry out employee searches on arrival and departure.
14. Keep the manager updated on daily matters: seek approval for overtime, advise on staffing issues, seek approval for maintenance expenses, recommend resourcing levels, plan staffing, supervise stock transfers during sales, and inform subordinates about stock takes.
15. Provide details of worked hours per task per shift. Process documentation in a timely manner and communicate progress to relevant parties and the line manager. Develop efficient processes to meet company objectives.
16. Maintain inventory of non-saleable stock (bags, fittings, display items, flyers, etc.).
17. Plan and receive shipment status reports, advise on shipment sizes and stock allocations, and control stock allocation. Develop internal and external relationships to benefit the department and company.
18. Ensure the correct items are delivered.

Desired Candidate Profile & Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 1-3 years of experience in a similar supervisory role.
• Experience in retail warehousing and familiarity with WMS systems.
