Prioritize workload & process information to meet deadlines while maintaining accurate files.
Coordinate with Merchandisers regarding new shipments; follow up on stock damage during transit, prepare storage/excess claims, ensure stock is properly binned/tagged, and adhere to all division, company, local, and legal requirements.
Follow up with IT & Finance regarding stock written off (testers, uniforms, damage, giveaways, defective products).
Ensure the Distribution Centre complies with Health & Safety regulations.
Conduct periodic maintenance for all equipment.
Manage a team including workload distribution, motivation, training, and appraisals.
Provide supervision and leadership to the team.
Inform and guide employees on company policies & procedures.
Appraise employees and monitor performance against set goals; identify development needs and potential, and assign appropriate job functions to foster growth.
Address employee welfare issues.
Maintain records of all goals and appraisals for the Distribution Centre team.
Assist in maintaining a clean and organized Distribution Centre by conducting daily inspection checks.
Conduct employee searches on arrival and departure.
Keep the Manager updated on daily matters: seek approval for employee overtime, advise on staffing issues, seek approval for maintenance expenses, recommend resourcing levels, plan staffing, and supervise stock transfers during sales; plan and inform subordinates regarding stock takes.
Provide details of worked hours per task per shift, process documentation promptly, and communicate progress to relevant parties and the Line Manager.
Develop efficient processes to meet company objectives.
