Job Summary:

The Warehouse Shift Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations in a high-tech digital warehouse equipped with robotic automation systems. This role ensures efficient, safe, and accurate order fulfillment while managing a team of warehouse associates and coordinating with automation systems. Our ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, experience in automated warehouse environments, and the ability to troubleshoot robotic equipment issues.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Management:

  • Supervise and coordinate warehouse shift activities, ensuring smooth operation of robotic picking, sorting, and storage systems.
  • Monitor automated workflows (e.g., AMRs, AS/RS, conveyor systems) and intervene in case of malfunctions or bottlenecks.
  • Ensure timely and accurate order processing, meeting KPIs for productivity, accuracy, and on-time shipments.
  • Collaborate with the IT/automation team to optimize WMS (Warehouse Management System) and robotics performance.
  • Lead, train, and motivate a team of warehouse associates working alongside robotic systems.
  • Assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide coaching to ensure adherence to safety and operational standards.
  • Conduct shift briefings and debriefings to communicate goals, issues, and process improvements.

Safety & Compliance:

  • Enforce strict safety protocols for both human workers and robotic equipment.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and ensure compliance with OSHA and company policies.
  • Report and document incidents, near-misses, and equipment failures.

Technical Troubleshooting:

  • Work closely with maintenance and automation specialists to resolve equipment issues.
  • Perform basic diagnostics and escalate complex technical problems to the robotics support team.
  • Ensure minimal downtime by proactively identifying and addressing potential system disruptions.

Inventory & Quality Control:

  • Oversee cycle counts and inventory accuracy in coordination with automated systems.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in stock levels or order fulfillment.
  • Maintain high standards for product handling and damage prevention.

Qualifications & Skills:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering, or equivalent experience.

Experience: 3+ years in warehouse supervision, preferably in an automated/robotic warehouse environment.

Technical Skills:

  • Familiarity with WMS (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and warehouse robotics (e.g., Locus, Kiva, Auto Store).
  • Basic understanding of mechatronics or automation systems (training provided).

Soft Skills:

  • Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Certifications (Preferred): OSHA certification, Six Sigma, or robotics operations training.

Working Conditions:

  • Shift-based role (day/night shifts, weekends as needed).
  • Physical requirements: Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 25 kg, and work in a dynamic automated environment.
