Job description

Job Title: Waiter/Waitress

Based at the Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental, Abu Dhabi, within the Food & Beverage Department, the Waiter/Waitress is responsible for ensuring that guests are served food and beverages according to the standards of Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental, Abu Dhabi. The Waitress reports to the Assistant Restaurant Manager.

Responsibilities:
  1. Set up stations and tables according to set standards.
  2. Greet guests according to the standards set by Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental, Abu Dhabi.
  3. Communicate with guests according to the standards set by Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental, Abu Dhabi.
  4. Assist the captain in presenting the menu, making recommendations, and taking orders.
  5. Serve food and beverage items and ensure prompt service.
  6. Follow up on billing and checking procedures.
  7. Keep the buffet area clean and free of debris.
  8. Coordinate and assist in clearing tables and stations.
  9. Supervise the return of dirty linen.
  10. Assist the kitchen in clearing the buffet.
  11. Be present in the restaurant during service hours.
  12. Keep the captain informed of all guest comments and complaints.
  13. Attend communication meetings, briefings, and training sessions as required.
  14. Maintain a neat uniform and ensure good personal grooming and hygiene as per standards.
  15. Perform any other duties as assigned by your supervisor or manager.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Certification or Diploma in Hospitality Management is preferred.
  • Previous experience in a standalone restaurant is preferred; resort experience is a plus.
  • Passionate about guest service with an engaging personality.
