Job Description

The Position

Provide prompt and courteous F&B service to hotel guests.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

  1. Read daily events to acknowledge VIP arrivals.
  2. Know all menu items, garnishes, contents, and preparation methods; relay this information to guests politely and clearly.
  3. Present children's menus when appropriate and describe specials and alternative cuisines.
  4. Serve and clear food and beverage items professionally and unobtrusively.
  5. Use the POS system to process sales, print checks, close checks, and complete cash-out procedures.
  6. Carry trays, bus, and reset tables with linen, china, glassware, and silverware.
  7. Ensure guest satisfaction and address any issues, informing a manager as needed.
  8. Follow cash and credit card procedures per accounting guidelines.
  9. Maintain a clean, organized restaurant during service.
  10. Polish silverware, refill condiments like salt, pepper, sugar, and creamers.
  11. Keep workstations stocked with necessary condiments.
  12. Report guest comments regarding food and beverage to the manager.
  13. Handle and maintain operating equipment conscientiously.
  14. Follow safety, sanitation, and hygiene policies.
  15. Maintain good relationships with colleagues and other departments.
  16. Know all F&B services, outlets, and hotel features.
  17. Perform opening/closing duties and set tables according to standards.
  18. Report deviations from standards and procedures to the manager.
  19. Keep service and storage areas safe and clean.
  20. Minimize waste, neglect, breakages, and mishandling of supplies and equipment.
  21. Perform light cleaning and maintenance of the outlet.
  22. Assist other F&B outlets during peak hours if needed.
