Job Description

Mandarin Oriental Downtown, Dubai is seeking a Waiter/ess to join our In Room Dining team. We are looking for someone passionate about delivering exceptional service and creating memorable guest experiences.

Mandarin Oriental is renowned for its luxurious hotels, resorts, and residences worldwide, blending Asian heritage with modern luxury. Located in the heart of Dubai, our hotel offers stunning views of the skyline, including the Burj Khalifa and Arabian Sea, with 224 Residences and 259 Rooms & Suites.

As a Waiter/ess in the In Room Dining department, your role is to provide guests with an outstanding dining experience within the comfort of their rooms. Reporting to the F&B Supervisor, your responsibilities include taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring service standards are met.

Key Responsibilities

1. Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the In-Room Dining menu, ingredients, and preparation methods to assist guests effectively.
2. Accurately take and communicate food and beverage orders to the kitchen and bar staff, ensuring prompt delivery.
3. Handle special requests and dietary needs professionally, informing relevant departments as needed.
4. Deliver personalized and attentive service, upsell products, and create memorable moments for guests.
5. Operate POS systems for order processing, billing, and setup/clearing of tables according to standards.
6. Ensure guest satisfaction from arrival to departure, creating WOW moments in line with MOHG Legendary Quality Experiences.

Candidate Requirements

• High School qualification or equivalent; higher education in Hospitality/Hotel/Business Management is a plus.
• Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role, preferably in a luxury hotel or high-volume restaurant.
• Excellent communication skills in English; additional languages like Arabic are advantageous.
• Knowledge of dining service procedures, POS systems, and cashiering.
• Strong interpersonal skills, effective guest and colleague interaction, and understanding of service flow.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods and flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
