One client, a major UAE-based bank, is looking for experienced program/portfolio project management professionals for the position of Vice President/Senior Vice President in IT Project Portfolio Delivery. This is a permanent, onsite position based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
A selected and onboarded employee for this senior role will be responsible for:
- Defining the portfolio strategy and ensuring projects contribute to the bank's strategic objectives;
- Coordinating the planning of multiple programs and projects, managing cross-functional teams and resources;
- Monitoring and tracking portfolio performance, providing status reports, risks, and mitigation plans;
- Implementing and managing portfolio governance processes to ensure compliance with standards, policies, and frameworks;
- Managing stakeholder relationships and expectations, ensuring portfolio value is understood and communicated;
- Conducting regular portfolio reviews and adjusting strategies for successful outcomes;
- Leading risk identification and mitigation processes across the portfolio;
- Developing and enhancing the knowledge and skills of key team members, including PMs and BAs;
- Ensuring a high success rate for projects delivered on time, within scope, and within budget;
- Reducing portfolio-level delivery risks through early identification and mitigation strategies;
- Increasing visibility and reporting accuracy for the portfolio;
- Reducing resource conflicts through improved cross-project resource management;
- Improving resource onboarding via pipeline management and leveraging ODCs and partners;
- Achieving effective portfolio resource utilization without exceeding budgets;
- Implementing portfolio review processes with 100% of projects evaluated quarterly for alignment to business strategy;
- Ensuring 95% of projects stay within budget across the portfolio.
Requirements:
- Minimum 12 years of experience in program, portfolio, and project management, preferably in banking and/or financial services industries;
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar project portfolio management role, preferably in banking and/or financial services industries;
- A Bachelor's Degree in project management, engineering, business administration, or similar fields; a Master's Degree is preferred.
