Job Description
JOB PURPOSE :
- Responsible for building the Global operational processes for settlement UAE with adequate controls covering diversified local, GCC, International Markets, and products like equities, mutual funds, fixed income, hedge funds, structured funds, ETF.
- Responsible for UAE SSO Settlement operation acting as Global custodian, overseeing Egypt HUP settlement activities, liaising with Egypt AVP direct team, and coordinating with KSA VP direct on operational processes.
- Monitor the deliverables related to processes of FAB MISR Shared Service Centre (SSC) custody operational activities, ensuring compliance and timely execution to enhance client experience.
- Oversee service delivery and daily operations of the Global Custody activities in UAE, Egypt, GCC, ensuring standards are met and procedures followed. Establish priorities and schedules.
- Communicate with clients, counterparties, international markets, sub-custodians, regulators, brokers, paying agents, issuers, supporting due diligence visits, and training staff to ensure accurate processing and process reengineering as per FAB UAE Global custody business requirements.
- Build and implement operational processes for diversified markets, managing client expectations, and ensuring quality services as per international standards.
- Manage UAE Global custody services and oversee Egypt HUP expansion, ensuring large-value, complex process execution, avoiding losses and penalties, and safeguarding the bank's reputation.
- Ensure onboarding processes and queries for clients (institutional and global bank custodians) are addressed within stipulated timelines.
- Understand process maps for FAB UAE and Egypt HUP, ensuring alignment with regulatory and compliance requirements across GCC.
- Manage and train team members, handle appraisals, and identify training needs.
- Support operational decisions related to client onboarding, new system implementation, error tracking, and process improvements.
- Responsible for FAB UAE Global Custody Department functions : Position Management, Security / Cash Settlement, Reporting, Invoicing, Reconciliation, Swift, Market Security Movement, Cash Management, FX, Income Management, etc., as per SLA with GCF securities services team.
- Deliver system changes, upgrades, new client SLAs, and reengineer operational processes to meet multi-tenant custody system requirements across UAE.
- Manage and guide FAB MISR HUP operations team, ensure compliance with rules and regulations, and mentor staff for growth.
Job Context
- Lead end-to-end operational processing for settlement and custody activities in UAE, Egypt, GCC, ensuring compliance and timely execution to enhance client experience.
- Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to deliver services aligning with business objectives.
- Ensure process and system enhancements are completed per business goals.
- Deliver services across intra-country GCC markets, ensuring timeliness and accuracy in settlement, reporting, and billing.
- Support FX, cash management, and ensure resolution of settlement discrepancies.
- Produce and ensure timely, accurate MIS reports and other operational reporting.
- Monitor controls, KPIs, and KRIs, and ensure compliance with audit and regulatory standards.
- Manage team morale, conduct appraisals, and oversee staff training and development.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualification : University Graduate / Bachelor’s Degree with 12+ years related experience in global market custody operations and regulatory compliance.
Minimum Experience :
- 12+ years in securities services / back-office operations, managing client / securities settlements.
- Strong understanding of securities services, operations, and accounting activities.
- Ability to meet business objectives within controls and risk parameters.
- Excellent multitasking, follow-up, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- High accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
- Fluent in English & Arabic, with experience in client services, settlement, custody, or related functions as an advantage.
