Job description

JOB PURPOSE

Manage critical functions related to investment analysis, capital allocation, and execute strategic company initiatives while supporting the team with financial planning & analysis.

Promote the adoption of a structured approach to all investment evaluations, generating fully transparent information for management.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

Investment Analysis

  • Perform rigorous financial analysis, sensitivity analysis, and review of investment proposals by business lines (AM / DM).
  • Support the adoption of a structured approach to all investment evaluations, generating fully transparent information for management.
  • Identify key risk drivers of financial underwriting from feasibility models and commercial considerations of proposed transactions.
  • Ensure investment submissions comply with Investment Framework policies.

Capital Allocation

  • Execute periodic reviews of group return hurdles and cost of capital.
  • Contribute to data-driven recommendations regarding the company’s strategic objectives, particularly on capital allocation decisions and strategic planning.
  • Perform ad-hoc credit analysis and support dealings with credit rating agencies.
  • Establish and periodically review group return hurdles and cost of capital.

Strategic Company Initiatives

  • Support the origination of strategic initiatives (M&A, third-party capital raise – equity & debt).
  • Manage preparation of pre-IC appraisals and coordinate with relevant stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the development of Investment Appraisals as part of the IC decision process.
  • Execute live transactions, manage the transaction process, and liaise with counterparties and advisors.
  • Consolidate input from various departments for the 5-year financial planning and assess its quality.
  • Support strategic initiatives while assisting the team with financial planning & analysis.
  • Manage the provision of financial outputs of the consolidated business plan.
  • Assist in maintaining and improving detailed corporate financial models.

RELATED YEARS OF EXPERIENCE

Minimum of 10+ years of experience in a diverse financial environment, leading strategic finance, capital management, or investment in a publicly listed company with annual revenue of at least AED 3 billion.

TECHNICAL AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS

  • Proficient in Bloomberg, Excel financial modeling (including DCF, DDM, real estate, public trading comparables, precedent transactions, merger modeling), and accounting.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills.
  • Excellent project management skills; self-starter with initiative to lead execution work.
  • Good team and interpersonal skills with a strong work ethic.
  • Conflict resolution and management skills for field conflicts.
  • Ability to plan, execute, and manage tasks as per project schedule and budget.

QUALIFICATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or business; MBA or Master in Finance from a top-ranked school.
  • Professional qualification e.g., CFA.

KEY RESULT AREAS

  • Quality, frequency, and effectiveness of reports to management.
  • Achievement of target shareholder composition (investment style, concentration, diversification).
  • Effective input into business planning and investment analysis.
