Job Description Summary
Overview
- Lead Critical Business Development Vertical for the cluster, focusing on high growth and new frontier opportunities.
- Develop sales pipeline leveraging all available resources in coordination with the product development and account management teams.
- Work with cross-functional teams and Country Managers to identify opportunities to sell new products to existing customers.
- Participate in high-level, interactive conversations with key decision makers around new or emerging product opportunities.
- Analyze customers’ existing business through profitability modeling, financial forecasting, and competitive analysis, and recommend opportunities for additional revenue and to deepen Mastercard's relationship.
- Develop long-term growth strategies to optimize mutual profitability across all business lines.
- Work with and orchestrate cross-functional teams of Mastercard subject matter experts to strategically articulate value propositions to close new business opportunities.
- Develop financial modeling and business cases for identified opportunities.
- Execute and manage the customer contract agreement process, ensuring global linkage of resources and information sharing.
- Be the responsible “face of Mastercard” to the prospect/customer through high-level interactions with key stakeholders such as senior bank executives, country regulatory contacts, marketing and card vendors, as well as third-party processing companies.
Major Accountabilities:
- This individual is the 'Go To' person for Business Development across assigned accounts within the Cluster, ensuring alignment between the location’s 'go-to-market' approaches and the overall MEA Business Development strategy, considering the region's longer-term strategic initiatives.
- Lead key regional group relationships and drive Mastercard’s business strategy and attack plan to deepen revenue opportunities across partners, while also driving the customer’s strategy and enhancing their competitive position.
- Establish new partnerships, vendors, enablers, and joint ventures with capabilities to sustain Mastercard’s competitive advantage and track performance against key objectives.
- Maintain strong business relationships across all levels of organizations with banking partners, vendors, the wider banking industry, and regulators in the assigned location.
- Set a long-term strategic agenda to accelerate Mastercard and partner growth, ensure expansion and diversification in line with global priorities, and lead execution programs leveraging Mastercard’s cross-functional teams.
- Position as a trusted advisor, creating strategic frameworks for success and unlocking bank-wide opportunities to extend services, expand payments, and drive growth.
- Support development of the location’s Interchange strategies and collaborate with regional cross-functional teams.
- Assist in the location’s regulatory dialogue and support Country Management on regional and national interests.

Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s degree required, MBA preferred.
- Extensive experience in financial services and payments.
- Deep business development and marketing experience.

- Experience in merchant acquiring, retailing, or corporate transactional banking advantageous.
