Core Responsibilities
- Implement mannequin styling according to visual presentation directives, brand guidelines, and current fashion trends.
- Create attractive mannequin arrangements that demonstrate creativity, product detailing, and appropriate styling.
- Interpret seasonal visual presentation guidelines and adapt them to individual store layouts.
- Design and maintain wall displays, merchandise tables, and other in-store presentation areas.
- Ensure visual displays communicate the intended brand identity and support a consistent shopping experience.
- Maintain awareness of key product collections, best-selling merchandise, and seasonal presentation priorities.
- Make visual merchandising decisions based on product performance, department requirements, and commercial considerations.
Seasonal Campaigns and Marketing Displays
- Implement seasonal visual merchandising updates according to approved presentation schedules.
- Coordinate the placement of promotional materials, wardrobe imagery, and product benefit signage.
- Support marketing activities by checking that visual updates are completed within required timelines.
- Execute promotional campaigns and store events in coordination with relevant agencies.
- Ensure campaign materials are installed and presented according to established guidelines.
- Review visual activities and identify any issues affecting campaign presentation or execution.
Visual Merchandising Materials and Inventory
- Manage point-of-purchase (POP) materials, mannequins, display props, and related presentation equipment.
- Maintain proper identification, storage, handling, and return procedures for visual merchandising materials.
- Coordinate requests for display equipment and campaign-related materials.
- Ensure mannequins and promotional materials are maintained appropriately before and after campaigns.
- Support back-of-house organisation to ensure visual materials are available when needed on the sales floor.
- Monitor visual merchandising costs, props, and marketing cart requirements within assigned responsibilities.
Visual Standards and Reporting
- Apply established visual merchandising processes and procedures across assigned store activities.
- Maintain accurate visual records of store presentation updates and completed campaigns.
- Contribute to photographic reports documenting visual merchandising activities.
- Work with Assistant Visual Merchandisers (AVMs) to prepare presentation reports.
- Provide feedback to the reporting manager and local suppliers regarding the quality and suitability of visual materials.
- Identify presentation issues and recommend practical improvements to store visual standards.
Collaboration and Operational Support
The Visual Merchandiser works with several store and business functions to ensure visual activities support commercial priorities.
- Coordinate with the Area Manager and Store Manager regarding visual presentation requirements.
- Collaborate with Brand and Category Management teams to understand product priorities and seasonal collections.
- Work with Marketing teams to implement promotional activities and visual campaigns.
- Communicate operational concerns and presentation requirements to relevant stakeholders.
- Adapt visual merchandising activities to changing store priorities and campaign requirements.
Self-Management and Performance
- Establish annual performance objectives in consultation with the reporting manager.
- Take responsibility for completing assigned visual merchandising activities and meeting agreed targets.
