Lead the Museum Accessibility Committee and co-lead the People of Determination committee, engaging with user experience panels to ensure inclusive practices.
Oversee the museum's accessibility policy, ensuring compliance with UAE and international standards. Identify and escalate accessibility risks within the museum's risk framework.
Collaborate with curators and educators to create inclusive exhibitions and programs, enhancing the visitor experience for all audiences.
Provide staff training on accessibility best practices and assist in developing accessible digital content for the museum's website, app, and online exhibitions.
Assists in the development of the units medium and long terms goals, methods, policies and procedures and creates a resources plan as and when needed.
Reviews project proposals and prepares feasibility reports providing timeframes, funding requirements and resource allocation for sign off, and follows up on executing and managing the implementations.
Reviews the units progress and analytical status reports on project activities and provides advice and recommendations for further actions to the Visitor Operations Manager.
Provides comprehensive risk management - adhering to quality assurance, health and safety protocols and procedures for all elements within each project.
Schedules and prepares internal and external project management meetings to assign, brief and supervise projects to ensure effective and smooth implementation.
Provides post project feedback, evaluation and recommendations for improvements in the future to include, but not limited to, unforeseen requirements and budget reconciliation.
Assists the Visitor Operations Manager with all ad hoc project requirements and provides comprehensive follow up, review and dissemination of information to the business, as required.
Ensures operational excellence in achieving KPI’s specific to audience studies and accessibility.
Supports Visitor Operations team with unit budget management – including cashflow planning and day to day financial process management.
Manages visitor operations team – including workload management and objective setting and achievement monitoring.
Occasionally undertakes Visitor Operations Manager responsibilities, in the absence of the Visitor Operations Manager, under the supervision of the department Director or Events Manager.
The role holder will ensure operational excellence in achieving KPI’s, working towards establishing a sustainable financial model by achieving any set financial targets and driving internal process improvement and efficiency and, ensuring the offering of attractive products or tools that lead this enablement.
As a brand ambassador the role holder will consider the customer prospective in all your projects - working to understand and manage all stakeholders.
As a leader the role holder will create learning opportunities by collaboration, transfer of knowledge, or developing employees in the respective area, that drives employee engagement and growth across the Museum.
Required Qualifications
Educational Background: A bachelor's degree in a related field such as Museum Studies, Accessibility Studies, Special Education, or Social Work.
Professional Experience: Proven experience in accessibility services within museums, cultural sites, or related fields.
Skills and Competencies: Strong understanding of accessibility standards and guidelines (e.g., UAE Universal Code, ADA, WCAG), excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and strong problem-solving abilities.
