As VP Engineering Cabin Technical and Re-configurations in the Cabin Technical team, you will:

Manage planning and execution of Fleet Cabin Refurbishments and Upgrades, including overseeing technical teams, contracts for cabin interiors, and third-party IFEC services. Ensure alignment with corporate cabin fleet strategy and collaborate on new fleet deliveries.

In this role you will:

- Lead the Cabin Technical, Upgrades, and Reconfiguration teams to ensure safe, compliant, reliable, and cost-effective operations that enhance passenger experience. Implement and enforce procedures to meet required standards and objectives.

- Manage an efficient Technical Document Review system to assess airworthiness information from regulators, manufacturers, and vendors. Establish policies for evaluating and overseeing mandatory and non-mandatory aircraft changes, with non-mandatory proposals requiring strong justification in areas like safety, performance, and customer experience.

- Coordinate with Procurement/Materials Management to select and source suppliers for Retrofit & Upgrade projects, including cabin and IFEC needs. Manage sourcing of STCs, SBs, and alternative materials, negotiate contracts, and ensure after-market services support timely maintenance and cabin standards.

- Ensure effective coordination across internal teams and external stakeholders (manufacturers, vendors, lessors) for modification, retrofit, and upgrade programs, addressing factors like operations, facilities, materials, training, and service impact.

- Lead cross-functional teams in ITCM forums with suppliers and manufacturers, addressing key technical issues impacting fleet operations. Drive collaboration on new Cabin/IFEC technologies to improve reliability and enhance customer experience.

- Oversee a streamlined process for Cabin Engineering Change Requests, ensuring technical evaluations and recommendations support internal stakeholders. Foster proactive collaboration to provide timely responses to inquiries, minimizing disruptions and boosting efficiency and capability development.

- Evaluate new aircraft specifications, ensuring selections incorporate lessons from past operations. Collaborate with DSVP Aircraft Procurement/Projects to align upgrades and reconfigurations with strategic direction.

- Ensure all Cabin/IFEC programs meet Design Organisation requirements and collaborate with the Maintenance Programmes team to develop and maintain compliant Supplemental Maintenance Programs, aligned with regulatory standards and OEM recommendations.

- Lead the EK Engineering Cabin Technical teams, fostering professionalism, commitment, and integrity. Provide direction and support to help staff achieve personal development goals, enhance skills, and build team capabilities, with a focus on developing UAE Nationals.

Qualification

To be considered for the role, you must meet the below requirements:

Qualific ations: Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent)

Experience: Facilities/Maintenance. 12+ Years

Knowledge/Skills:

Degree in aviation/aerospace engineering related discipline

Experience in an airline technical environment or equivalent of which at least 5 years leading / managing a team in major airline.
