Job description

The VP for Emirates Engine Maintenance Centre (EEMC) will lead and manage the Engine Maintenance Centre and Test Cell strategic business growth to maintain and overhaul all EK fleet Engines in house. Create a work frame to run the EEMC profit centre, while maintaining a strict control over a safe and cost effective operational activities by providing clear leadership supported by a set of Key Performance Indicators and performance measurement metrics.

In this role, you will be:

  1. Accountable to lead key negotiations with vendors, suppliers and 3rd party customers on elements including, but not limited to, revenue agreements, engine performance, repair and warranty.
  2. Accountable for the development, implementation and monitoring of a business plan with clearly defined budget, KPIs, risks and performance deliverables in line with the leadership team directions.
  3. Responsible to explore the most effective strategic options to expand EEMC and test cell business capacity and capability through organic growth of external Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) collaborations, and business partners or through Joint Ventures and alliances, after discussion and endorsement of the leadership team. Monitor closely markets trends for Engineering and technology, products design, financial trends, supply chain and aggressively drive Commitment from OEMs and vendors to ensure Turn Around Time (TAT) is protected.
  4. Accountable for the design and continuous development of an organisational structure meant to support EEMC long term strategy, through effective communication, agile decision making and prevention of silos between the business units. This includes development of technical support, production functions, regulatory and safety compliance and control.
  5. Responsible for constant monitoring of EEMC Procurement to prevent adverse cost trends and implement Accounting best practices to support EEMC performance and profitability targets.
  6. Accountable to establish and promote a regulatory compliant, safe and culturally conducive environment for efficient maintenance and overhaul processes, procedures and practices as detailed in the EEMC, Maintenance Organization Expositions (MOE) and relevant Operating Procedure Manual, including effective Safety Management System (SMS) in line with the regulatory requirements and company policy.
  7. Accountable to establish strategies to improve end to end engines repairs and maintenance methods and processes in order to improve the efficiency, productivity and effectiveness of the EEMC.
  8. Supporting finance to introduce effective and automated costing system to track and capture the resource utilisation including man-hour, material and of assets/tooling.
  9. Ensuring all staff are fully trained on all Engine overhaul activities by an approved organisation or OEMs including any new capabilities development.

To be considered for the role, you must meet the below requirements:

  • Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent)
  • 12+ years of experience in engineering
  • GCAA or ICAO type II License
  • Proven experience on business restructuring and change management, including headcount optimization while motivating staff to maintain efficient operational performance
