About The Role
This position is responsible for executing the go-to-market strategy and achieving business development targets, both financial and non-financial, for the Maritime & Shipping Cluster. The role involves developing new and existing business opportunities, expanding relationships, and attracting new customers and revenue streams within this market.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and create opportunities for economic and commercial value through new business development in specific markets.
- Coordinate activities across all business lines within the Maritime Cluster.
- Participate in business planning cycles according to corporate and cluster guidelines and goals.
- Follow up on business leads to meet the commercial targets of the Economic Maritime & Shipping Cluster.
- Negotiate commercial contracts related to business opportunities.
- Develop and maintain relationships with existing and potential customers and partners.
- Contribute to improving systems, practices, and approaches to meet customer needs.
- Translate business targets and budgets into actionable plans.
- Manage the development of business models and seek approval for new business opportunities at the executive level.
- Oversee operational and developmental budgets, business cases, and ensure effective implementation.
- Coordinate with strategic stakeholders for investment attraction and enhancement efforts.
- Monitor the commercial performance of existing industrial and maritime operations, comparing results against KPIs, and initiate corrective actions as needed.
- Monitor market share, pricing, and competitors' performance.
- Manage day-to-day business development activities across heavy industries sectors like metal, construction, and building materials.
- Manage, coach, and develop direct and indirect reports.
- Collaborate with Human Resources on recruitment and organizational restructuring as needed.
Required Qualifications
- MBA, Master's in Engineering, or experience in shipping, marine, offshore, or related fields.
- Degree in Business Administration, Management, or Engineering.
- Proficient in English.
- Minimum of 10-15 years of relevant industry experience with operational understanding of sector requirements.
