About The Role

This position is responsible for executing the go-to-market strategy and achieving business development targets, both financial and non-financial, for the Maritime & Shipping Cluster. The role involves developing new and existing business opportunities, expanding relationships, and attracting new customers and revenue streams within this market.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Identify and create opportunities for economic and commercial value through new business development in specific markets.
  2. Coordinate activities across all business lines within the Maritime Cluster.
  3. Participate in business planning cycles according to corporate and cluster guidelines and goals.
  4. Follow up on business leads to meet the commercial targets of the Economic Maritime & Shipping Cluster.
  5. Negotiate commercial contracts related to business opportunities.
  6. Develop and maintain relationships with existing and potential customers and partners.
  7. Contribute to improving systems, practices, and approaches to meet customer needs.
  8. Translate business targets and budgets into actionable plans.
  9. Manage the development of business models and seek approval for new business opportunities at the executive level.
  10. Oversee operational and developmental budgets, business cases, and ensure effective implementation.
  11. Coordinate with strategic stakeholders for investment attraction and enhancement efforts.
  12. Monitor the commercial performance of existing industrial and maritime operations, comparing results against KPIs, and initiate corrective actions as needed.
  13. Monitor market share, pricing, and competitors' performance.
  14. Manage day-to-day business development activities across heavy industries sectors like metal, construction, and building materials.
  15. Manage, coach, and develop direct and indirect reports.
  16. Collaborate with Human Resources on recruitment and organizational restructuring as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • MBA, Master's in Engineering, or experience in shipping, marine, offshore, or related fields.
  • Degree in Business Administration, Management, or Engineering.
  • Proficient in English.
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of relevant industry experience with operational understanding of sector requirements.
