Job Title : Vice President, Climate Risk

Summary :

The Vice President, Climate Risk will support global climate risk management efforts within the Strategic Risk Management function. This role will focus on developing and coordinating best practices for managing climate-related financial risks, aligning with evolving regulatory and market standards. The incumbent will be responsible for integrating climate risk into governance frameworks, leading climate scenario analysis, supporting regulatory compliance, and enhancing risk disclosures.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Embed climate-related financial risks into enterprise-wide governance and risk appetite frameworks.
  • Develop and track KPIs for climate risk and report them to the Board and executive management.
  • Lead scenario analysis and stress testing (e.g., NGFS, TCFD) in partnership with Credit and Market Risk teams.
  • Ensure group-wide alignment of climate risk policies across international branches and subsidiaries.
  • Coordinate climate risk data, analytics, and disclosures—supporting ICAAP, TCFD, and regulatory filings.
  • Serve as the central liaison on climate risk issues for internal stakeholders, auditors, and regulators.
  • Draft and maintain governance documents, including policies, procedures, and risk registers.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and emerging climate science, updating frameworks and controls accordingly.
  • Drive cross-functional projects to enhance climate risk processes, systems, and operational efficiency.
  • Champion a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and climate risk awareness across the organization.
  • Coach and develop team members; oversee performance reviews and training plans.
  • Uphold the Three Lines of Defence, confidentiality, and data-protection requirements in all activities.

Requirements :

  • Bachelor's degree in Banking, Finance, Economics, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Relevant professional certifications (e.g., GARP SCR) are an advantage.
  • 12+ years of banking or financial services experience, including managerial roles.
  • Expertise in climate risk, framework implementation, and regulatory projects.
  • Strong understanding of credit and capital markets.
