Job summary

Dubai Municipality seeks a veterinary professional to monitor and enforce animal health standards across farms, camps, and facilities in Abu Dhabi. You will perform inspections, provide emergency care, and conduct post-mortems to determine causes of death and ensure biosecurity compliance.

The role requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Veterinary Medicine with no experience required, and involves strong enforcement of health regulations and welfare practices across assigned emirate facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Medicine is required.
• No prior work experience is required.
• Knowledge of animal health, welfare, biosecurity and slaughter inspection is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Monitor compliance with veterinary standards and regulations at farms, camps, housing facilities and associated premises.
• Provide first aid to sick or injured animals in emergencies and perform needed procedures.
• Examine animals before slaughter and inspect veterinary health of products from slaughter.
• Perform post-mortem examinations (necropsies) to determine causes of death and collect samples for testing.
• Inspect animal shelters, barns and livestock facilities for health and safety and enforce biosecurity measures.
• Take enforcement actions including fines, notices and warnings under regulations and bylaws.

Job description

• Monitoring compliance with veterinary standards and regulations related to animal health and welfare, animal treatment procedures, and biosecurity measures at farms, livestock camps, animal housing facilities, and their associated premises.
• Providing first aid to sick and injured animals in emergency situations, treating them, and performing the necessary surgical procedures efficiently.
• Examining animals before slaughter and conducting veterinary and health inspections of products obtained after slaughter.
• Performing post-mortem examinations (necropsies) on deceased animals to determine the causes of death and collect the necessary samples for testing.
• Inspecting animal shelters, barns, and livestock facilities within the assigned areas of the Emirate to ensure the health and safety of animals and compliance with biosecurity measures aimed at preventing the spread of diseases. This also includes monitoring the overall health conditions in animal markets, identifying public health hazards and disease vectors, and taking the appropriate control measures.
• Taking enforcement actions, issuing fines, notices, and warnings against entities that violate health and safety requirements in farms and related facilities, in accordance with the municipality’s approved regulations and bylaws.
