Job description

Skills Provision is searching for a Vendor Operations Specialist (VOS) for a company in Dubai.

Our client is a well-established organization in the field of promoting, selling and marketing of Branded IT products here in the Middle East.

The Role

  • Work with the Product Marketing Specialist (PMS) to profile the vendor inventory requirements to fulfil the sales order forecasts and market demand.
  • Prepare and place orders to achieve the appropriate product availability to match the market demands and sales forecast whilst providing the best stock availability with the minimum risk.
  • Work with the PMS to review the stock profile reports weekly to ensure timely procurement of products
  • Review the stock profile reports weekly for ageing issues and take action with the Manager to reduce inventory risk.
  • Agree, implement and manage approved pricing strategies in conjunction with Pricing Manager to ensure maximum profitability
  • Agree, implement and report on rebate action plans and actions to drive increased back end profitability.
  • Ensure that daily margin adjustments and write backs are fulfilled on a daily basis.
  • Analyse and recommend all available data (i.e. customer segments, forecast and pipeline changes, unusual variances on margin, proposed significant changes in prices, inventory, etc.)
  • Achieve / exceed targets & objectives as agreed with the Business Unit Manager
  • Assist in the swift resolution of vendor related issues.
  • Manage stock rotations and inventory revaluations as and when required and approved.

Requirements

  • Track record of product management and a broad knowledge of the IT or related industries.
  • High levels of analytical, planning and execution skills.
  • Excellent communication and administrative skills.
  • Ability to use own initiative mandatory
  • Mature, responsible and professional attitude.
  • Commercial or Technical Degree
  • Minimum three years’ experience of local and regional IT markets
