Job summary

A specialized energy service company is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to perform operations and maintenance on variable frequency drives. Full Description

• Perform various tasks in operations, and maintenance of variable frequency drives on all DPE operated onshore assets.
• Responds, at any given time, to all trouble relating to variable frequency drives, and more generally to any electrical equipment as directed by the electrical supervisor, to provide optimal availability, reliability and cost optimization whilst ensuring that the highest safety and environmental standards are maintained.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to a high standard of Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) performance by always following HSE standards, including the prompt reporting of any safety or environmental hazards or incidents.
• Perform maintenance / overhaul and repair, on company owned VFD and other electrical equipment, in a timely and safe manner while ensuring maximum availability, reliability, and safety in their operation.
• Prepare permit to work for routine and non-routine activities, develop related Risk Assessments which identify hazards and manage associated risks to enable safe performance of the activities.
• Diagnose faults, propose, and implement remedial repairs on company’s equipment and systems in a logical and effective manner.

Experience

• 10 years post certificate maintenance experience in oil / gas industry or, 10 years post apprenticeship experience of oil and gas field facilities.
• Experience in safe low, medium, and high-voltage electrical isolation procedures including 400 v, 3.3 kV, and 33 kV systems.
• Must be competent in hazardous area classification and electrical equipment requirement. Should have completed either IECEX or COMPEX training and have a valid certification.

• Degree / Diploma in Electrical Engineering or another appropriate field.
