Job summary

Star Services LLC in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Utility Operator (Oil & Gas) for offshore duties. The role requires a Diploma/Degree in Electrical Engineering and at least 3 years of gas power plant operation experience with electrical maintenance and troubleshooting.

You will execute power generation, distribution and RO plant operations; read control schematics; maintain LV/HV switchgear and UPS systems; supervise desalination and associated equipment; and respond to breakdowns to maximize uptime.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Min 3 years’ experience in gas power plant operation with electrical maintenance.
• Experience with Low/High voltage switchgear and motor control panels.
• Desalination plant operations experience.
• Read electrical schematics and control diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Execute Power Generation / Distribution and RO plant Operation.
• Understand control schematic drawings of turbine control panel, generator protection panel & AVR panel.
• Carry out maintenance and repair activities associated with LV/HV switchgear, motor control panels, circuit breakers, protection systems and DC systems.
• Monitor UPS and battery backup systems.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and control wiring diagrams.
• Patrol on daily routine basis to check operational condition of Power generators, pumps and fans, radiators, sweet gas compressors and desalination plant.
• Attend to breakdowns and effect corrective actions to reduce downtime and maximize equipment functionality.
• Assist in troubleshooting, maintenance and modifications of Power generators control systems and LV switchgears.
• Responsible to manage Desalination operations at Mubarraz facilities; decisions referred to Foreman for approval before implementation.
• Operate valves, fans and pumps and monitor data from running Power generators, 6.9 KV switchgears, sweet gas compressors and Desalination plant.
• Shall have experience RO plant operation and maintenance.

• Diploma / Degree in Electrical Engineering
• Minimum 3 years relevant experience in Gas power plant operation with experience in Electrical maintenance & troubleshooting.
• * Execute Power Generation / Distribution and RO plant Operation.
• * Understanding the control schematic drawings of Turbine control panel, generator protection panel & AVR Panel
• * Carry out maintenance and repair activities associated with Low Voltage and High Voltage switchgearincluding motor control panels, circuit breakers, protection systems and DC systems.
• * Monitor and maintain UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) and battery backup systems.
• * Conduct megger testing / insulation resistance testing, and circuit troubleshooting.
• * Read and interpret electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and control wiring diagrams.
• * Patrol on daily routine basis to check operational condition of Power generators, pumps and fans, radiators, sweet gas compressors and desalination plant. Detects and reports abnormal conditions and carries out emergency measures as instructed.
• * Attend to breakdowns and effect corrective actions, ensuring adherence to procedures & guidelines to reduce downtime and maximize functionality of equipment.
• * Assist to carry out trouble shooting, maintenance and modifications of Power generators control systems and low voltage switchgears, The job holder is accountable for provision of electrical support to plant operations at Mubarraz and supervising the routine checking of equipment and maintenance activities as per set standards.
• * Responsible to manage Desalination operations at Mubarraz facilities, Key decisions having significant impact on Utility operations are referred to the Foreman - Utility Plant Operations (MUB) for approval before implementation.
• * Operate valves, fans and pumps and other related equipment. Monitor and record data from running Power generators, 6.9 KV switchgears, sweet gas compressors and Desalination plant.
• * Knowledge of all relevant plant and equipment, Practical knowledge of electrical maintenance principles.
• * Shall have experience RO plant operation and maintenance.
