Urban Design Manager

Randstad is working with an international architecture and engineering consultancy in the search for a Urban Design Manager to join the team in Dubai.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead and oversee master planning projects from concept to completion, ensuring alignment with project objectives and client expectations.
2. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative solutions in urban design, infrastructure, and environmental planning.
3. Prepare and present master planning reports, ensuring clear communication of project details and strategies.
4. Manage and coordinate with authorities for project approvals, particularly with Dubai Municipality and the Department of Municipalities and Transportation in Abu Dhabi.
5. Ensure successful approval of multiple master plans across various stages, from pre-concept to detailed design.
6. Deliver high-quality master planning solutions, integrating infrastructure engineering, transportation, and environmental planning disciplines.
7. Lead and mentor a team of urban planning professionals, fostering collaboration and ensuring project success.
8. Manage client relationships, ensuring their needs and expectations are met throughout the project life cycle.

Qualifications & Experience:

1. A minimum of 15 years of experience in urban planning, master planning, and urban design, with a demonstrated history of successful project delivery in the UAE.
2. Experience delivering projects in Dubai and/or Abu Dhabi, with a strong understanding of local authorities and approval processes.
3. Proven track record in obtaining approvals from Dubai Municipality and/or the Department of Municipalities and Transportation in Abu Dhabi.
4. Expertise in preparing master planning reports and documentation for various stages of the planning process.
5. Extensive knowledge in the disciplines of master planning, including infrastructure engineering, transportation, and environmental planning.
6. Strong leadership skills, with experience managing multidisciplinary teams.
7. Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, InDesign, and Photoshop.
8. Exceptional project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders, including clients and authorities.
