Job description

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable University Admissions Counselor to support students in the UAE through personalized one-on-one university admissions tutoring. The ideal candidate will guide students applying to top universities in the UAE and countries like US, UK, Canada, Europe, and other global destinations. You will assist students in building strong academic and extracurricular profiles, crafting compelling application materials, and navigating complex admissions processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide individualized counseling to high school students (IB, A-Level, British, American, or national curriculum) on university admissions strategy.
  2. Develop customized application timelines for students applying to the US, UK (UCAS), Canada, Europe, Asia, or UAE.
  3. Assist students with school and program selection based on academic strengths, career goals, and preferences.
  4. Support students in drafting, editing, and finalizing personal statements, UCAS statements, Common App essays, and supplemental writing.
  5. Guide students on scholarship and financial aid applications (Merit-based, FAFSA, CSS Profile).
  6. Offer coaching on interview preparation and extracurricular portfolio development.
  7. Track student progress and provide regular feedback to students and parents.
  8. Stay informed on global university admission trends, changes in requirements, and visa processes.
  9. Collaborate with internal teams and attend school fairs or university events when needed.
Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree - Required
  • Master's degree in education, career counseling, or similar field - Preferred
  • Minimum 3 years experience as a school counselor, guidance counselor in a high school setting, or independent educational consultant/counselor - Required
  • Proven knowledge of international admissions procedures
  • Track record of success with elite university admissions counseling
  • Excellent ability to build rapport with students, parents, administrators, and team
  • Exceptional writing and communication skills
  • Superior time management and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in data management, reports, and tracking project status
  • Well-versed in Google Suite (Google Drive, Excel, Google Classroom)
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and solution-oriented multi-tasker
  • Expertise in using web-based tools to advise students
  • School counselor / Guidance counselor experience
