Job summary

Zurich in Dubai seeks an Underwriting Assistant to support the Construction underwriting team. You will assist underwriters with applications, pricing low‑complexity risks and preparing terms and conditions.

Collaborate with brokers and internal stakeholders, maintain accurate records, and help prepare underwriting reports. A bachelor's degree in business/finance/insurance is preferred, with strong analytical, detail‑oriented, and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, or a related field is preferred.
• Knowledge of insurance principles, policies and industry practices is advantageous.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to review and evaluate complex information accurately.
• Excellent attention to detail, with a focus on data accuracy and quality assurance.
• Computer savvy and proficient in MS Office Suite and other underwriting software.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

Responsibilities

• Assist higher proficiency Underwriters in reviewing applications and setting terms and conditions.
• Provide support with basic underwriting tasks, including documentation and systems updates.
• Maintain underwriting records, including policy documentation and endorsements.
• Communicate with brokers and internal stakeholders to obtain missing information.
• Assist in preparing underwriting reports and summaries to support decisions.
• Collaborate with Claims and Finance to ensure smooth underwriting processes.
• Stay updated on regulations and market conditions impacting underwriting.
