Job summary

The National Insurance Company – Daman is seeking an underwriting professional in Abu Dhabi to assess applications, evaluate risks, and ensure compliance with underwriting policies to support informed decision‑making and optimize risk exposure.

You will collaborate with brokers, agents, and clients to gather information, analyze data, and refine risk models. 0–2 years of underwriting experience and a related finance/insurance background are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Risk Management, Insurance, or a related field.
• Professional certifications such as Associate in Commercial Underwriting (AU), or equivalent are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Report underwriting recommendations with detailed justifications to senior management for final decision‑making and approval.
• Draft and compile comprehensive underwriting reports for internal and external stakeholders to ensure transparency and accuracy.
• Meet with brokers, agents, and clients to gather necessary underwriting information and clarify policy terms and conditions.
• Analyze claims data and underwriting trends to refine risk models and improve underwriting accuracy.
• Research and interpret policy terms, industry regulations, and compliance requirements to ensure adherence to underwriting standards.
• Collect and evaluate applicant information to assess risk exposure, policy pricing, and eligibility criteria.
• Support the development and enhancement of underwriting guidelines, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and company policies.
• Document underwriting decisions systematically, maintaining accurate records to facilitate audits, compliance checks, and performance reviews.
• Observe industry trends and best practices to enhance underwriting efficiency and mitigate potential financial risks.
• Summarize and present risk profiles and underwrite insights to senior leadership for informed decision‑making.
• Present underwriting reports and key risk findings to internal teams for process optimization and policy refinement.
