Job summary

BESIX is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to support tendering and pre-contract activities in Dubai. You will review tender documents, prepare quantity take-offs, and help coordinate with estimators and project teams to ensure accurate submissions.

Responsibilities include BoQ preparation, post-tender clarifications, and maintaining organized documentation in the knowledge system. Fluency in English and strong numerical skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Hold a bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline.
• Possess MRICS or equivalent accreditation (advantage but not mandatory).
• Have 5 years of experience in quantity surveying or construction cost control.
• Gain exposure to infrastructure or marine projects.
• Work on tendering or construction projects in the Middle East.
• Understand basic international contract frameworks (e.g. FIDIC) as a plus.
• Review tender documents and identify scope inconsistencies with guidance.
• Prepare quantity take-offs from drawings and specifications.
• Support the preparation of WBS BoQ and cost estimates.
• Demonstrate proficiency in Excel; familiarity with cost estimation software (Candy) is an advantage.
• Manipulate 3D and BIM models.
• Communicate fluently in English.

Responsibilities

• Review tender documents to ensure understanding and compliance.
• Verify the completeness of received documents; raise queries with Estimator.
• Identify discrepancies, scope gaps and uncertainties; align with Estimator.
• Prepare BoQ and take-offs from drawings and models.
• Coordinate with draftsmen for marked-up drawings supporting quantity take-offs.
• Provide quantity data to materials engineers and submission engineers during tender.
• Follow up on post-tender queries and clarifications.
• Review contracts after award for alignment with tender submissions.
• Support kick-off meetings and site-quantity queries.
• Organize and upload quantity take-off workbooks and cost sheets.
