Tutor/Caregiver

Tutoring roles and responsibilities for Lucas:

• Teach Life Skills: Assist Lucas in acquiring life skills through daily self-care routines.
• Improve Fine Motor Skills: Engage Lucas in fun activities and games to enhance his fine motor skills.
• Establish Routine Physical Exercise: Collaborate with his physical therapist to create a routine for improving gross motor skills.
• Enhance Social Skills: Take Lucas to social settings to help him interact with others and develop his social skills.
• Support Family Outings: Assist Lucas during family outings and travels to ensure his comfort and safety.
• Create Daily Activity Plan: Design a daily plan with engaging activities tailored to his interests and abilities.
• Provide Constant Supervision: Maintain constant supervision to ensure his safety due to his tendency to put himself at risk.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Personal Care: Assist with toilet care, showering/bathing, and preparing for bed.
• Meal Preparation: Prepare meals (light cooking or warming up food) and assist during meal times.
• Mobility Assistance: Assist with moving around the house, as the child may have coordination and balance issues due to seizures.
• Medication Management: Administer daily medications at the same time and with rigorous attention to detail.
• Sleeping Arrangements: Sleep by the child's side a minimum of 3 nights per week, as seizures often occur during sleep.

Additional responsibilities may include monitoring the child's condition, providing emotional support, and coordinating with healthcare professionals and the child's family as needed. The caregiver should also be prepared to respond calmly and effectively in case of a seizure, following any specific protocols or instructions provided by the child's healthcare team.

Experience Requirements:

2 - 4 years of experience in caregiving or tutoring roles, particularly with children who have special needs.
