Job summary

Job description

Job role: Responsible for end-to-end export and transshipment operations across Jebel Ali and Abu Dhabi ports, including slot management and rate negotiation, vessel bookings, container inventory and repositioning, shipping documentation, and coordination with MLOs, port authorities, agents and Principals. Also handles port congestion, shipment exceptions, OOG approvals, reefer and tank operations, and MNR-related activities.

• Monitor and provide timely updates on port congestion, vessel delays and operational changes to Principals, Ports of Loading (POL) and other relevant stakeholders.
• Coordinate with port empty yards, reefer sections, shippers and transporters to resolve issues related to container availability and collection.
• Liaise with vessel operators, DP World shift managers and input sections to facilitate container loading after cut-off, based on export shipper requirements and operational feasibility.
• Negotiate slot rates with slot operators and coordinate commercial requirements for export and transshipment volumes.
• Coordinate with load ports regarding shipment holds at transshipment ports and communicate applicable charges and operational requirements.
• Place bookings with Main Line Operators (MLOs), submit shipping instructions and load lists through MLO portals, ensure compliance with documentation requirements, and obtain Master Bills of Lading (MBLs) for CY loadings.
• Verify slot invoices and coordinate with the Accounts team for confirmation and processing.
• Monitor empty container availability against yard inventory, coordinate with central inventory teams and plan container repositioning as required.
• Handle Stack User (SOC) activities, including load list submission, rollover, transfer and Inter-Terminal Transfer (ITT) through Dubai Trade.
• Coordinate with agents in Iran and other local markets to secure vessel space for Vasco Maritime (VM) and Goodrich Supply Chain & Solutions (GSCS) containers, including tanks and reefers, and advise on suitable terminals at Jebel Ali (JEA).
• Obtain Out-of-Gauge (OOG) discharge approvals from Abu Dhabi terminals and coordinate with the relevant stakeholders.
• Coordinate operational contingency plans during port congestion, vessel delays and other disruptions to minimise shipment delays.
• Notify Principals, Ports of Loading (POL) and Ports of Discharge (POD) regarding leaking containers, reefer malfunctions, container damage, port congestion and changes in port policies.
• Manage the end-to-end export process at Jebel Ali, from export release to final loading confirmation.
• Handle Maintenance and Repair (MNR)-related activities, including cross-stuffing, container inspections, surveys and associated operational arrangements.

Functional requirements:

5–7 years of relevant experience in export operations, slot management, and container shipping, preferably with an NVOCC or shipping line.

• Graduate in any discipline, preferably in Shipping, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
