Job Description:

Traffic Management Engineer

Abu Dhabi, UAE

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Traffic Management Engineer to join our team! In this role you will get to review, coordinate and oversee the design, implementation, integration and commissioning of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and Traffic Control Systems (TCS) while ensuring effective planning and execution of Temporary Traffic Management (TTM) and detours across multiple infrastructure projects.

What You'll Be Doing:

1. Oversee the deployment and integration of ITS and TCS infrastructure across multiple projects, ensuring compliance with the latest authority standards and regulations.
2. Review and validate ITS and TCS designs, technical specifications and submittals ensuring compliance with project requirements and regulatory standards.
3. Identify and mitigate technical risks, design and construction conflicts, and interface issues related to ITS and TCS infrastructure across various projects.
4. Monitor the implementation and commissioning of ITS and TCS infrastructure, ensuring that it adheres to approved plans, schedule, budget and quality benchmarks.
5. Review and assess temporary traffic management plans (TTMP) submitted by contractors for multiple project sites.
6. Ensure traffic detours are safe, efficient and compliant with regulatory requirements minimizing disruptions to road users.
7. Conduct site inspections and audits to verify proper implementation of approved traffic diversions.
8. Provide recommendations to optimize traffic flow and minimize congestion during construction activities.
9. Coordinate with Integrate Transport Centre (ITC), road authorities, project teams and other stakeholders to ensure effective traffic management planning.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Civil, Electrical, Transportation, or related discipline) from a reputable institution.
2. Minimum 9+ years of experience in ITS design, implementation and traffic management within large-scale infrastructure projects.
3. In-depth knowledge of ITS, TCS and Traffic Management standards and procedures.
4. Prior experience with ITC (Integrated Transport Centre) approvals and regulatory processes is mandatory.
5. Experience in reviewing and implementing temporary traffic management plans for large-scale infrastructure projects.
6. Strong understanding of ITS network integration and maintenance is preferred.
7. Prior experience with consultants or contractors in the ITS field is preferred.
8. Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders, including government entities, contractors and design consultants.
9. Strong problem-solving, analytical, and project management capabilities.
10. Proficiency in software such as AutoCAD, Synchro or ITS tools is an advantage.
11. Excellent report writing, presentation, technical documentation and communication skills.
12. Microsoft Office Suite proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Project).
13. Local Abu Dhabi experience is preferable.
