Job description

To ensure safe effective and compliant traffic detour schemes related to bridge maintenance activities. The Traffic Engineer will be responsible for reviewing traffic management plans (TMPs) verifying compliance with local and national traffic control manuals conducting site inspections identifying issues and recommending corrective actions and improvements

  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Review & Approval:
      • Evaluate and approve traffic detour schemes submitted by contractors for bridge maintenance works.
      • Ensure all Traffic Management Plans (TMPs) comply with relevant traffic control manuals and guidelines (e.g. UAE Traffic Control Manual local authority standards).
      • Conduct regular field visits to verify the actual implementation of traffic diversions against approved plans.
      • Identify any noncompliance or deviations from approved traffic schemes.
      • Document findings through detailed inspection reports including photographic evidence and risk assessments.
      • Develop and recommend corrective actions and improvement plans where deficiencies or safety risks are observed.
      • Follow up on the implementation of remedial measures to ensure closure of identified issues.
      • Coordinate with project engineers contractors local traffic authorities and police departments as necessary.
      • Provide technical guidance and support in resolving trafficrelated challenges during maintenance activities.
      • Prepare and submit periodic reports highlighting traffic performance issues encountered and recommendations.
      • Maintain a record of all reviewed TMPs inspection reports and correspondence with stakeholders.

    Qualifications :

    • Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering Engineering.
    • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience preferably in road/bridge maintenance and traffic engineering.
    • Strong knowledge of local traffic control manuals and regulations.
    • Experience in work zone traffic management and traffic safety audits.
