Job description

We are looking for a Trade Compliance Manager to be responsible for the geographical area of the Middle East, Türkiye, and Africa to join our team. The role will be based in the UAE, reporting to the Area Trade Compliance Manager, APM & China.

In this role, you will :

  • Monitor & implement relevant regulatory developments applicable to the KONE environment
  • Advise and train business units and global functions on trade compliance subject matters, such as customs tariffs, country of origin, and free trade agreements
  • Take the lead in developing applicable trade compliance processes and participate in key projects as a subject matter expert
  • Support in customs and other relevant audits
  • Liaise with internal parties, such as procurement, logistics, tax, legal, compliance, and local business units, and external parties such as customs brokers and relevant authorities.

The preferred location of the role is in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates.

We are looking for candidates with :

  • Minimum 8+ years of relevant trade compliance experience
  • Suitable educational background, e.g., with international trade, logistics, economics, or other relevant education
  • Knowledge of trade compliance regulatory requirements in the area of Middle East, Türkiye, and Africa
  • Understanding of customs tariff classification practice, country of origin & free trade agreement requirements, and customs valuation
  • Willingness to continuously develop own expertise in the field of trade compliance
  • High motivation to work as part of a global team with the ability to make effective decisions and drive issues promptly
  • Strong compliance mindset
  • Experience of independently managing cross-functional activities in a changing environment
  • Experience of working in an international and multicultural environment with a record of managing both internal and external stakeholders
  • The ability to collect, manage, and analyze data in a structured and efficient manner, and to identify key issues and root causes
  • The ability to summarize and present complex facts to non-specialist audiences
  • Availability and willingness to travel worldwide when necessary
  • Strong technical skills, including MS Office, SAP, are an advantage
  • Fluent written and spoken English; Arabic is an advantage
