Job Title : Topside Commissioning Offshore Material Coordinator

JOB DESCRIPTION AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Follow material manufacturing and inspection activities through all phases, from preliminary engineering to procurement.

Follow-up:

  • Support bids and projects in defining the most effective and competitive solutions for material manufacturing.

Tasks:

The engineer executes activities within their area of responsibility, ensuring compliance with QA/QC and HSE requirements.

Tasks include:

  • Issue documents related to the definition and production of components (pipes, fittings, etc.) needed for the construction of pipelines, sea lines, etc.
  • Support procurement and commercial teams with technical analysis during project bid phases. Review Saipem specifications for pipes and fittings manufacturing.
  • Support procurement to establish bidder lists, evaluate and pre-qualify vendors, conduct bid assessments and audits.
  • Review supplier documentation for compliance with client and international specifications/rules.
  • Issue technical bid evaluations for line pipes and fittings supply.
  • Assist MPQT, review and comment on subcontractor documentation, review inspection and test plans.
  • Discuss project requirements with method engineers and project managers during proposal and project phases.
  • Liaise with welding, NDT, and anticorrosion teams to identify critical manufacturing requirements affecting installation and promote innovative solutions.
  • Perform site inspections and surveys.
  • Report to the technical group leader for validation.
  • Coordinate material failure analyses.
  • Maintain contact with pipe manufacturers to stay updated on new technologies and optimize quality and costs.
  • Perform or validate materials selection, considering corrosion mechanisms, and define anticorrosion strategies (materials, chemical treatments, coatings, cathodic protection).
  • Calculate corrosion rates using recognized models/software for sour and sweet services, evaluating erosion allowances, and selecting appropriate CRA materials.
  • Determine chemical inhibition strategies for various services.
  • Issue corrosion engineering documents.
  • Transfer corrosion strategies to relevant disciplines (CP, painting, coatings).
  • Coordinate with other disciplines to provide corrosion-related inputs.
  • Provide technical support during construction and operational phases for corrosion issues.
  • Define laboratory testing protocols and coordinate corrosion-related tests at qualified labs.
  • Perform and coordinate materials and corrosion failure analyses upon project or asset requests.
