Role overview

The role is accountable for assisting in the development and execution of a comprehensive tissue viability and wound care management service. It involves applying a modern, evidence-based care model that emphasizes the prevention and management of skin and tissue damage. This position will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to uphold the highest standards of care and enhance patient outcomes. A strong knowledge of wound care principles, clinical expertise, and a dedication to ongoing improvements in patient care practices are essential for this role.

Responsibilities
  • The role requires adherence to the division\'s policies, procedures, and standards, ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory bodies.

  • In the absence of the Line Manager, the role undertakes delegated tasks to ensure continuity of care for residents with active skin injuries.
  • The role participates in regular incidence and prevalence studies and assists in collecting KPI data related to tissue viability.
  • The position involves supporting investigations, root cause analyses of tissue viability issues, and contributing to the development of action plans and improvement activities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a large hospital setting.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and leadership skills, possess knowledge of current best practices.
  • Willing to undertake Tissue Viability Certification from recognized authorizing body within 12 months of successful commencement of Tissue Viability position.
