Job summary

Wynn Al Marjan Island is seeking a Show Operator Assistant Automation to join the Theater Operations team. The role involves assisting the Head of Automation with supervising staff, training new hires, scheduling, and maintaining safe automation and Comms systems for rehearsals and performances.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma and at least five years’ experience in large-scale theatrical automation, with hands-on expertise in automation, hydraulic systems, and Navigator

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of five (5) years’ experience as an Assistant Head of Automation for large-scale theatrical or production show.
• Experience with a wide variety of modern theatrical automation and Comms systems as it pertains to installation, use and troubleshooting.
• Experience with a wide variety of modern fluid power equipment such as hydraulic valves, and pumps as it pertains to installation, use and troubleshooting.
• Experience with flying effects with artists and theatrical rigging.
• Experience with electronics, conduit, battery packs, wire terminals, sensors, networks and Comms boards.
• Experience and knowledge of automation, fluid systems & hardware.
• Prior experience working with Navigator preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Automation – Theater Operations with supervising the department staff and with hiring and training new employees.
• Assist with staff scheduling and timekeeping.
• Assist with ordering supplies and with keeping an inventory of all consumables.
• Establish and maintain safe and consistent operations of automation and Comms systems for rehearsals and performances.
• Program and operate Comms consoles and automated stage systems.
• Troubleshoot automation and Comms systems during performances and rehearsals.
• Install, assemble, hang, and repair automation mechanisms and elements.
• Support the show by aiding performers and staff interaction with all show elements.
