Role Overview

RENK is seeking a skilled Testing Engineer - Renk to play a hands-on role in testing and commissioning our cutting-edge gearboxes at our end-of-line test rig. As part of our team in Abu Dhabi, you'll work in an ONSITE environment, ensuring every high-precision, defence-sector system meets RENK’s reputation for performance, precision, and reliability before being delivered to our customers.

Responsibilities

  • Take full ownership of the in-house testing of gearboxes prior to customer delivery.
  • Verify the performance of hydraulic systems, drive technology, transmissions, and control/regulation systems using advanced diagnostic equipment.
  • Collaborate closely with the project lead to resolve any technical issues before final handover.
  • Utilize and operate end-of-line test benches and specialized tools.
  • Document, analyze, and report on test outcomes and propose recommendations for improvement.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety standards and protocols during the testing process.

Must have requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in mechanical repair, gearbox testing, technical maintenance, or defence-sector gearbox work.
  • Hands-on experience with test benches, diagnostic equipment, and specialized mechanical/electronic tools.
  • Strong troubleshooting capabilities for both mechanical and electronic systems.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, schematics, and manuals.
  • Excellent English communication skills, with the confidence to collaborate in a diverse, technical environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as a collaborative team player.
  • Consistent adherence to safety standards in all operational tasks.

Nice to have requirements

  • Direct experience with RENK HSWL 256/284/295 or RK304/325 gearboxes.
  • Post-graduate degree in a relevant engineering field.
  • Background in commissioning defence-sector systems.
  • Familiarity with high-precision, regulated test environments.
