Job description

The Terminal and Mobile Equipment Maintenance Planner is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating preventive and corrective maintenance activities for terminal and mobile equipment. This includes ERF trucks, reach stackers, forklifts, front-end loaders, skid steers, backhoes, shunters, and other heavy-duty or specialized equipment. The planner ensures that equipment availability is optimized and that maintenance is executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory standards.

  • Planning & Scheduling
  • Develop and maintain preventive maintenance (PM) schedules for all ERF trucks, mobile and terminal equipment based on OEM recommendations and usage hours.
  • Plan corrective and predictive maintenance activities based on trucks/equipment condition, inspection findings, and failure trends.
  • Coordinate with operations to schedule maintenance windows with minimal disruption to terminal activities.
  • Attending breakdowns and troubleshooting in-house and provide road assistance service for company vehicles, and ensure all repairs meet the highest quality standards and adheres to manufacturer specifications.
  • Manage workshop inventory of parts and supplies availability, ensuring that necessary materials are readily available for services company vehicles.
  • Maintain a 7-day and 30-day maintenance outlook and publish weekly schedules.
  • Work Order Management
  • Create, prioritize, and track work orders in the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
  • Review completed work orders for accuracy, proper documentation, and compliance with maintenance procedures.
  • Maintain an accurate backlog of work and ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks.
  • Parts & Materials Coordination
  • Identify and reserve necessary parts and materials for scheduled maintenance activities.
  • Collaborate with inventory and procurement teams to ensure timely availability of critical spares.
  • Asset & Compliance Management
  • Maintaining vehicles/machines warranty details.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and maintenance best practices.
  • Keep maintenance records updated for audits, inspections, and compliance reporting.
  • Assist in asset lifecycle tracking, including condition assessments and retirement planning.
  • Communication & Reporting
  • Work closely with maintenance technicians, supervisors, and terminal operations to coordinate trucks and equipment availability.
  • Provide regular reports on maintenance KPIs (e.g., MTTR, MTBF, PM compliance).
  • Contribute to reliability and root cause analysis efforts for recurring vehicles and equipment failures.
  • Manage workshop financial matters including but not limited to (parts bills, closure of petty cash claims, disposal of part process and related cost return)

Academic Qualifications:

  • Mechanical engineering degree, or technical diploma.

Professional Qualifications:

  • Experienced dispatcher
  • Experience planner of manpower and or training.

Experience:

  • Technical and mechanical solid knowledge.
  • Quality Management Experience
  • Experience with Logistics Planning (Trains, Trucking, Shipping, Airways)
  • Apprentice trained and/or relevant engineering qualifications.

  • English as a first language or advanced level of written and verbal skill
