Temporary Works Coordinator

Our well regarded Consultancy client has a new requirement for a well experienced Temporary Works Coordinator to join their team in Dubai, UAE to work on high profile high rise and mall projects in the Emirates. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a Temporary Works Coordinator. Ideal candidates will have experience in coordinating temporary works on large scale high rise and mall build projects in the UAE and the wider GCC and a proven background working in a recognized PMC or Consultancy business. This role is available for immediate joining and is an initial 3-6 Month Contract position as outsource employed by J10 Consulting.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Assist in the development and review of temporary works plans, method statements, and risk assessments.
2. Coordinate the submission, review, and approval process for temporary works designs and documentation.
3. Liaise with designers, contractors, and site teams to ensure temporary works are correctly implemented and executed.
4. Maintain a register of all temporary works and track their status.
5. Assist in the planning and scheduling of temporary works activities to align with the overall project program.
6. Ensure that risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) are prepared covering the safe erection and dismantling sequence. Ensure that RAMS are reviewed with regards to HSE requirements, and that work is carried out in accordance with the RAMS.
7. Be responsible for the safety and HSE performance of all personnel under their control, and for stopping work where this might be compromised.
8. Ensure works within area of responsibility are executed in accordance with the contract, and conform with project time and budget requirements.
9. Coordinate all temporary works activities.
10. Ensure that various responsibilities have been allocated and accepted (e.g. designers, design checkers, erectors, site supervisors).
11. Ensure that risks identified at design stage, as well as assumed construction methods and loading constraints, are incorporated into the temporary works design brief.
12. Ensure that the temporary works design is satisfactory.
13. Ensure that a design check is carried out, covering concept, structural adequacy, and compliance with the design brief.
14. Ensure the design is made available to relevant parties.
15. Register or record all drawings, calculations and other relevant documents relating to the final design.
16. Ensure that those responsible for on-site supervision receive full details of the design, including any limitations and guidance notes.
17. Make checks at appropriate stages during construction of temporary works.
18. Ensure that appropriate maintenance is carried out to temporary works (e.g. to facade retention structures).
19. After a final erection check, issue the permit to load.
20. Once the permanent works have attained adequate strength, issue formal permission to dismantle the temporary works and specify any relevant sequence.
21. Ensure the temporary works are dismantled in accordance with a defined procedure.
22. Deliver Lessons Learned and feedback for current and future projects.
23. Keep the Site Manager informed of all site-related activities.

Temporary Works Coordinator Experience:

1. Relevant academic qualification (e.g. engineering degree, HND) or specific relevant experience.
2. Minimum of 5 years relevant experience and proven delivery in Temporary Works Coordination.
3. Relevant Temporary Works Coordination training (ECITB or CITB accredited).
4. Knowledge of relevant HSEQ legal and management system requirements.
5. Ability to communicate clearly in English.
6. Ability to work under own initiative to meet deadlines and submissions.
