Job Summary

The Electrical Maintenance Technician executes routine condition monitoring, fault diagnosis, troubleshooting, and defect rectification on low and medium voltage (LV/MV) electrical infrastructure. The role ensures high reliability of 0.4 kV feeder panels and transformer systems while adhering strictly to site safety guidelines and risk management protocols.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform regular condition monitoring, testing, and inspection of 0.4 kV feeder panels to ensure uninterrupted power distribution.
• Troubleshoot electrical faults, diagnose root causes, and carry out swift defect rectification to minimize downtime.
• Execute routine maintenance procedures and operational checks on distribution transformers and associated protective devices.
• Handle installation, inspection, jointing, and maintenance for all types of cables utilized in LV and MV electrical systems.
• Comply with site safety protocols, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, permit-to-work requirements, and job safety risk assessments.
• Travel between work sites across the facility or region using a service vehicle to conduct field repairs and inspections.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Education & Experience:
  • Trade Certificate in the Electrical field with a minimum of 4 years of hands‑on experience, OR
  • Diploma in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience.
• Licensing: Valid GCC driving license.

Technical Competencies

• Expertise in 0.4 kV panel wiring, breaker testing, and control logic troubleshooting.
• Comprehensive knowledge of LV/MV cable specifications, insulation testing, and routing standards.
• Working knowledge of transformer protection schemes (e.g., Buchholz relay, overcurrent, earth fault protection) and oil/dry‑type maintenance standards.
• Strong commitment to occupational safety, hazard identification, and environmental guidelines.
