Job Summary/Main Purpose
The Assistant Engineer is responsible for adhering to cGMP principles and maintaining them effectively. They assist engineers in troubleshooting and resolving problems, ensuring safe engineering practices on the production floor.
The role involves adopting new techniques, supporting maintenance operations, and operating equipment safely. The assistant provides maintenance services as scheduled, performs checks on machines and equipment, analyzes processes, performs calculations, handles electrical requirements, and recommends improvements.
Key Responsibilities & Key Result Area
- Adhere to cGMP principles effectively.
- Assist engineers in troubleshooting, resolving problems, and ensuring safety practices.
- Manage tools, lubricants, and testing equipment for planned and breakdown activities.
- Maintain tools and spares, update records.
- Assist in preparing documents, job requests, maintenance records, and technical documents.
- Monitor electrical load, perform panel inspections, and predict load requirements.
- Ensure electrical safety and PPE compliance.
- Provide general maintenance, support equipment, and perform calculations and planning.
- Create operation checklists for machines and equipment.
- Conduct audits, ensure compliance, and assist in designing efficient systems.
- Analyze processes, perform calculations, and handle electrical requirements with improvements.
- Report daily maintenance activities as per SOPs.
- Manage Building Maintenance System (BMS) for control and monitoring.
- Maintain and repair equipment, troubleshoot issues.
- Monitor HVAC systems, install components, and resolve emergency alarms.
- Support data center applications, operate chillers, maintain dehumidification systems, and perform maintenance.
- Collect data, perform maintenance, log activities, and resolve issues.
- Support colleagues and perform additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications / Key Experiences / Functional Knowledge
- Certificate/Diploma in HVAC/Air Conditioning.
- 2-4 years of experience in a pharmaceutical company is desirable.
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical operations and processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer skills.
- Good command of English; Arabic is a plus.
- Knowledge of systems, control panels, troubleshooting, and equipment.
