Electrical Technician

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical Technician to perform a wide range of duties related to the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems and components. The successful candidate will ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of electrical infrastructure across various commercial, residential, or industrial facilities within the UAE. This role requires strong technical expertise, adherence to safety standards, and a meticulous approach to electrical work.

Key Responsibilities

• Installation & Wiring:
• Install, connect, and commission electrical systems, wiring, conduits, circuit breakers, switches, outlets, and lighting fixtures according to blueprints, schematics, and relevant electrical codes.
• Perform wiring for power, lighting, control circuits, and low-voltage systems.
• Install and terminate electrical panels, distribution boards, and motor control centers.
• Maintenance & Repair:
• Conduct routine preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical equipment and systems (e.g., generators, motors, transformers, switchgear, UPS systems).
• Perform diagnostic tests to identify and resolve electrical faults, short circuits, open circuits, and component failures.
• Replace defective electrical components and ensure systems are restored to proper functionality.
• Troubleshooting & Diagnostics:
• Utilize various testing equipment (e.g., multimeters, clamp meters, insulation testers, earth resistance testers) to identify electrical malfunctions and diagnose root causes.
• Read and interpret electrical blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to aid in troubleshooting and installation.
• Testing & Inspection:
• Perform pre-commissioning checks and final testing of electrical installations to ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
• Conduct regular inspections of electrical systems to identify potential hazards, wear and tear, or non-compliance issues.
• Safety & Compliance:
• Strictly adhere to all company safety policies, procedures, and local UAE regulations (e.g., DEWA, SEWA, ADDC, Civil Defense requirements).
• Ensure proper lockout/tagout procedures are followed during maintenance and repair.
• Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
• Documentation & Reporting:
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance, repair, and installation activities, including work orders, service reports, and inventory of parts used.
• Report critical electrical issues, potential hazards, and completed tasks to the supervisor.
• System Optimization:
• Monitor electrical system performance and recommend improvements for efficiency, reliability, and safety.

• Certifications: Relevant electrical trade certifications or licenses recognized within the UAE are highly preferred.
