Job summary

Real HR Talk with Tooba Khan is seeking an entry- to mid-level Technician for base maintenance in a fast-paced aviation environment. You will support licensed engineers, perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspections, and troubleshooting of aircraft systems.

The role requires strong attention to detail, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to work with maintenance teams across departments to ensure compliant, timely aircraft release.

We’re Hiring: Technician - Base Maintenance

Employment Type: Full-Time

Level: Entry-Level to Mid-Level

We are seeking a technically skilled, safety-conscious, and detail-oriented Technician - Base Maintenance to support aircraft maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and servicing activities within a base-maintenance environment. The role will work closely with licensed engineers, maintenance teams, quality personnel, and other technical departments to ensure aircraft and components are maintained safely and in accordance with approved maintenance procedures and aviation regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance tasks under approved maintenance procedures and supervision where required.
  • Conduct inspections, servicing, repairs, replacement, and troubleshooting of aircraft systems and components.
  • Assist with base maintenance, heavy checks, modifications, defect rectification, and aircraft maintenance programs
  • Read and interpret Aircraft Maintenance Manuals (AMM), Structural Repair Manuals (SRM), Illustrated Parts Catalogues (IPC), wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Perform maintenance tasks in accordance with approved work instructions, engineering orders, and maintenance procedures.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, structural, and other aircraft‑related systems as assigned.
  • Remove, install, inspect, and replace aircraft components and parts using approved tools and equipment.
  • Conduct functional checks and operational tests following maintenance activities.
  • Record completed maintenance tasks, inspection results, defects, and corrective actions accurately.
  • Ensure all maintenance documentation and technical records are completed in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Support licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineers during inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and certification activities.
  • Identify aircraft defects, abnormalities, damage, and potential safety concerns and report them promptly.
  • Maintain aircraft maintenance tools, ground-support equipment, and work areas in safe and serviceable condition.
  • Perform tool control, equipment checks, and calibration verification as required.
  • Follow approved procedures for aircraft component handling, storage, installation, and removal.
  • Maintain strict compliance with aviation safety, quality, and environmental procedures.
  • Participate in aircraft inspections, defect investigations, modification programs, and maintenance improvement activities.
  • Coordinate with Planning, Engineering, Quality Assurance, Stores, and other maintenance teams to support timely aircraft release.
  • Assist with aircraft recovery, troubleshooting, and rectification of technical defects when required.
  • Ensure all work is performed with appropriate attention to human factors, FOD prevention, safety, and maintenance best practices.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at improving maintenance reliability, turnaround time, safety, and operational efficiency.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in Aircraft Maintenance, Base Maintenance, Line Maintenance, Aviation Engineering, or a related technical field is preferred.
  • Technical knowledge of aircraft mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, structural, or avionics systems.
  • Experience working in an aircraft maintenance, MRO, airline, or aviation engineering environment is an advantage.
  • Ability to read and understand aircraft maintenance manuals, technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and engineering documentation.
  • Knowledge of aircraft maintenance practices, inspection procedures, component replacement, and defect rectification.
  • Strong understanding of aviation safety, quality standards, and maintenance procedures.
  • Familiarity with AMM, SRM, IPC, MEL, CDL, engineering orders, and maintenance task cards is an advantage.
  • Ability to use aircraft maintenance tools, test equipment, ground-support equipment, and workshop machinery safely.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow technical procedures precisely.
  • Strong documentation and record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with Licensed Aircraft Engineers, technicians, inspectors, planners, and other maintenance personnel.
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, compliance, and professional standards.
  • Ability to work shifts, weekends, public holidays, and overtime according to aircraft maintenance schedules.
  • Physically capable of working in aircraft hangars, maintenance areas, and other demanding environments.
  • Relevant aviation maintenance training, technical certification, or aircraft maintenance qualification is preferred.
  • A CAAM Aircraft Maintenance Licence (AML) or relevant authorization is an advantage depending on the position and aircraft type.
  • Experience with specific aircraft types such as Airbus, Boeing, ATR, Embraer, or other commercial aircraft is an advantage.
  • Diploma or technical qualification in Aircraft Maintenance, Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Avionics, or a related discipline is preferred.
