As a Technical Writer, you will create, revise, and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for our airworthiness programs. Your primary focus will be on regional and international regulations related to Military Aviation Regulations (MAR) and international standards and best practices specific to aviation maintenance. You will manage document baselines to ensure compliance with the latest approved standards and regulatory changes. Additionally, you will develop maintenance manuals, certification documents, and operational guides.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, update, and maintain military airworthiness documentation, primarily on the local and international MAR and international best practices in aviation maintenance.
- Produce clear, accurate, and comprehensive maintenance manuals, certification documents, and operational guides in compliance with internal quality, safety, and operational standards, as well as military regulations.
- Ensure that enterprise-wide documentation is current by incorporating design revisions and regulatory updates promptly, under the direction of the Senior Technical Writer.
- Create technical illustrations, diagrams, and visual aids derived from engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Prepare and finalize data modules integrating textual and visual content, ensuring clarity and consistency.
- Analyze engineering and maintenance data to extract critical technical details and ensure roles and responsibilities are accurately incorporated within the documentation.
- Integrate design changes and regulatory updates into documentation efficiently and accurately.
- Oversee version control and maintain enterprise documents using the latest approved versions and internal change management procedures.
- Verify the technical accuracy and completeness of documentation by collaborating with engineering, maintenance, quality assurance, and regulatory teams.
- Provide guidance and mentorship across functions to ensure adherence to military documentation standards.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities, internal, and external stakeholders regarding MAR and industry best practice alignment within documentation to facilitate compliance.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal documentation processes, procedures, guidelines, templates, and content libraries.
- Manage and maintain documentation within established content management systems to ensure consistency, traceability, and accessibility.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; advanced degrees are an advantage.
- At least 5 years of experience as a technical writer in a regulated or defense-related environment, or a comparable civilian setting.
- Proven expertise in developing and managing maintenance manuals, certification documents, and operational guides.
- Proficiency with structured authoring tools and content management systems.
- Understanding of airworthiness documentation and regulatory compliance.
